Travel through Wolf Creek Pass to Ute Sky Casino
I first learned about Wolf Creek Pass while planning our route through Colorado.

Wolf Creek Pass is a mountain pass on the Continental Divide, in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado.

It is the route through which U.S. Highway 160 passes from the San Luis Valley into southwest Colorado.

The pass is notable as inspiration of a C.W. McCall song.

Significantly steep on either side with a 6.8 % maximum grade, the pass is dangerous enough to merit two runaway truck ramps on the westbound side for truckers that lose control of their brakes.
We went slow occasionally putting on our flashers to alert cars coming upon us that they should pass us.

At one point we received a warning on our tire minder system that one of the tires on the RV was leaking air.  We pulled over at the first opportunity but could not discover a problem.
Although I let out a sigh of relief when we made it to the other side of the pass, it wasn’t nearly as scary as I had imagined.
We spent a couple of nights at the Ute Sky Casino RV Park that accepted our Passport America membership.
The casino is directly across the road from the campground.

I was up over $50 at one time but ended up giving it all back so with the 50% off discount on camping I actually broke even, in a way.
