August 6, 2013
Humbug Mountain State Park, OR
We spent most of our second day off doing some much needed and long overdue deep cleaning.  I had originally planned on taking on this task just before our departure at the end of the month.   But Monte misplaced something so we thought we might as well dust, vacuum and wipe down things as we pulled them out of closets and from under the dining table.  (We never did find the item Monte lost)

We took a walk after dinner.
This Santa is not something I expected to see in a campground in August.  When the camper in the site saw me taking a picture he explained that Santa is a landmark he uses whenever he camps so his children can find their site.  Clever.

We visited with the camp hosts in the lower loop for a while, enjoying the warmth of their campfire.
Back home I spent three hours prepping kits for our salamander program tomorrow by counting out beads and cutting ribbons for individual kits.
