Acorn Campground
New Hogan Lake,
Valley Springs, CA
We had an extremely lazy day.  Well I did anyway.  Monte changed out our propane regulator because we weren’t getting a high flame when I turned on the burners on the stove.
This is the second time we have had to change the regulator-the last time was back in August when we were at Mor/Ryde.  We bought two regulators at that time because they were on sale and Monte said it would be good to have one as a back-up.  He was right.
The campground had been almost totally full for the weekend but not there are very few people remaining.  The peace and quiet is wonderful.
I sat outside reading and watching a sea plane land and take off over and over again.
I’m guessing the pilot was practicing.

In the afternoon we decided to take a ride to town so we could fill the propane tank that was empty.  We inquired at the entrance booth where we could go to get the tank filled.  Patty, who was manning booth, informed us that the feed store in town had the best prices for propane.  After getting directions from her we headed out.
We made one detour at the strawberry booth.

This horsey ride brings back memories of my childhood although it probably only cost a penny back then.

When we left the feed store we stopped in at the grocery store and picked up a few items including a rotisserie chicken for dinner.
After dinner we took a walk around the nearly empty campground and then took advantage of the public hot showers before settling in for the night.  We will only be here a couple more days and are really going to miss this place.
