Orange Park,
FL
Monte begins
working at 7:30 so today on his day off he was looking forward to sleeping
in-but his allergies kicked in and he ended up getting up earlier than he would
on a work day.
Our goal
today was to find a new pair of work boots for Monte. His old boots have been talking to him for a
while now
There are no
stores nearby to the park we are staying at that sell boots so we drove 30
miles to Orange Park to the Boot Barn.
I was
impressed with the selection and variety of both work boots and cowboy boots
available.
Monte liked
the very first pair of boots he tried on.
But just to make sure there wasn’t a pair he would like better, he tried
on several other types of boots.
After a half
hour, I told Monte that I was going to sit in the car reading and he should
take his time.
When I said
take your time, I meant take another 15 or 20 minutes. An hour later he came out of the store empty
handed. WHAT!
Earlier we had agreed that our budget could handle boots in the $70-80 range. The boots he wanted were $109.99.
We discussed
it and decided spending the extra money on good boots was worth it. I had planned on us going out to dinner. We probably would have spent at least $40. Instead we ate at TacoBell for less than
$10 and that made up the difference between our budgeted amount and what Monte ended up spending.
