Bass Pro Pryamid

The Memphis Pyramid was built as a 20,142 seat arena in 1991.  It reopened in 2015 as a Bass Pro megastore.

In addition to the retail store, the Pyramid is home to an archery range, shooting range, and laser arcade.

One of the restaurants, The Lookout, is accessed by the tallest freestanding elevator in America.
$10 fee to ride up the elevator.
The Lookout restaurant
The Lookout offers views from an outdoor observation deck.

Uncle Buck’s Fishbowl and Grill includes a bowling alley and a saltwater aquarium.
We made the mistake of ordering a pizza that had to be the worst pizza I have ever eaten.  But I guess that is what you get when you order a pizza in a seafood restaurant.

At the base of the Pyramid is a 100-room hotel known as the Big Cypress Lodge.  Most rooms offer a private screened-in porch with rocking chairs that offer a commanding view of the sprawling cypress swamp below.
Another experience inside the Pyramid is the Ducks Unlimited Water fowling Heritage Center, an interactive wetlands education museum.

The center was created in partnership with Memphis-based Ducks Unlimited, the world’s leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation.

There are alligators lurking within the 600,000-gallon pond on the ground floor, along with 36 species of fish.

Fish and ducks can be observed from bridges across a pond in the center of the pyramid.

When we first arrived I thought we would walk around for a little bit just to say we had been in the Pyramid but I was pleasantly surprised by the experience.  We ended up returning a second time.
