Travel day from Big Lagoon State Park, Pensacola
To Henderson State Park, Destin
We took our time getting ready this morning because we only had a short 60 mile drive.
Monte doing his outside chores
-99% of the time he is able to hitch up the first time he backs up.
The road leading out of campground towards the Dump Station
The dreaded dump!

All done!
It was very cloudy most of the ride
but as we approached Destin the sun came out.

I had called Henderson State Park earlier to ask if they had any available sites and I was assured they had plenty.
When we arrived we found out there were many sites available but only for one or two nights and then the entire campground was reserved.  So we took a site for two days.

The campground is absolutely beautiful with wide deep sites.  We were pleasantly surprised to discover that free WiFi is included.

We began our walk to the beach but didn’t get far when Monte started a discussion with another couple who have a Montana similar to ours.  I continued walking to the beach.

I kept expecting Monte to show up but the sun set (it was amazing and I didn’t have a camera with me).

He finally showed up and we managed to get a few pictures before it got too dark as we took a walk along the shore.

The cool sand felt wonderful on my bare feet.
