Lake Morena RV
Campo, CA
We hitched up quickly but it took us over an hour to
dump because we had to use a community dump station that didn’t have any water
supply. Luckily, we had taken a walk the
day before to see where the dump was and discovered the lack of water at the
station. Before pulling out of our site
we had to fill our fresh water tank so we would have enough water to flush out
the black and gray tanks.
Less than an hour after departing from Diamond Jacks we
arrived at Lake Morena in the, you will miss it if you blink, town of
Campo. I had called ahead to check on
availability. The lady who answered the
phone sounded very nice and I wasn’t disappointed when I met her in
person. We are the only “overnighters”
staying here.
Our site is very large with a picnic table, great view and plenty of room for my car. The only drawback so far is that there is a “do not drink the water” order due to high levels of (gulp) uranium. We used all of the water in our fresh water tank to flush out the tanks. Luckily we always have at least 6 gallon bottles of fresh water with us. I hope that will be enough to last us while we are here.

The PA rate is
limited to 3 days but Linda told me if we wanted to extend a couple of days she
would oblige us at the PA rate. Sounds like
a plan to me-just hope we don’t start glowing after taking a shower with
uranium water.
