Lake Morena RV
Campo, CA
It was very cold outside so I stayed in most of the day
alternating between playing Angry Birds, reading and watching TV. Monte worked on trimming the capture plate on
our rig. Because it is sitting too low,
and he has had to make some sharp turns in the mountains, the plate has dented
the truck railing more than once.
We took a walk around the campground loop in the
afternoon to see how some of the full-time residents have personalized their
sites. One in particular caught our
attention because they had two sites.
They turned the second site into a patio with a beautiful rock
garden.
When we first arrived, the manager Linda showed Monte
where the community dump station was located.
He realized that it was going to be a challenge getting to it because of
the sharp turn in the road and the low hanging trees so he was relieved to hear
that the park offers the service of the Honey Wagon.
Many of the residents are full-timers and have put
gardens around their rigs so it would be impractical to use the community dump
station so twice a week the Honey Wagon comes around. In the early evening the Honey Wagon came by
to pump us out so now we don’t have to worry about dumping the tanks on Monday
when we leave.
