Englewood, FL
The mobile home and RV Park we are
wintering in, in addition to requiring a background check, also requires an “Interview”
that is partly a welcoming and mostly a meeting to go over the rules of the
park.
Normally, the interview is conducted within
a couple of days of arrival but because we arrived the night before
Thanksgiving our interview wasn’t scheduled until today at 1PM.
In the morning, Monte went up on the roof
to do some modifications to our TV Antenna and attached WiFi Ranger.
The issue we were having with the antenna
was that the WiFi Ranger’s signal was being blocked because it was too close to
the antenna.
Monte solved this problem
by using a handle to extend the distance of the mounting bracket to the antenna
pole.
Monte was keeping an eye on the time and
finished up with just enough time to wash up and change before we walked the
two blocks to the office where the interview was being conducted.
Just as we approached the office we
received a call from one of the officers on the board asking if we forgot about
the meeting because we were one minute late.
OPPS-we weren’t getting off to a good start.
Even though the chairwoman began the
interview with saying welcome, I didn’t feel very welcomed because her demeanor
was very brisk and business-like. But,
as the meeting progressed, I felt a change in the atmosphere and by the time we
shook hands at the conclusion, I felt a little more welcomed.
The rules are mostly common sense safety precautions
and just plain old consideration and curtsey to fellow residents.
The remainder of the afternoon was spent
doing errands that including getting a library card, mailing off Christmas
packages and a haircut for me at Walmart.
