Travel day from Ocean Springs, MS
To Big Lagoon State Park, Pensacola, FL
It was a short 115 mile travel day so we took our time getting packed up and ready for moving day.
Monte doing the dreaded "DUMPING"  And after over a week there was a lot to dump.
The one and a half mile leading to the highway from the campground
Cloudy skies
Welcome to Alabama
Alabama rest area
Traveled through Mobile

Monte and I got separated going through Mobile

We had to wait until the Florida Welcome Center to meet up.

We enjoyed our complementary cup of Florida OJ

We arrived at Big Lagoon State Park around 4PM.  The park uses Reserve America.  I had called while on the road to see if they had any unreserved sites open.  We were assigned site 33.  Monte got in my car so we could check the site out.  We thought it looked too shallow for us and we didn't like that it was sandy so we called Chris at the Ranger Station to inquire if site 8 was available.  It wasn't but site 9 was open with no reservations.  It had a concrete slab and was wide enough for my car.  My only concern was not being able to have satellite because of the trees.
We paid for one night but after setting up and getting good satellite reception, I drove back to the Ranger Station and paid for an additional 6 nights.
