Travel day from Greenwood to Goshen, IN
Monte gassed up the Jeep.  Last night we noticed that the gas station just down the road from us was selling gas at $3.22/gal.  This morning when he went to gas up it hiked up to $3.49 overnight!

He had to do a little further and managed to find gas for $3.36/gal.  Talk about a lost opportunity!
When he returned, Monte stopped in at Camping World to purchase a new surge guard.  He opted to go with a no frills model for $127.

We were on the road by 10:30.
The drive was uneventful as we passed through small towns, stopping only once for lunch in an empty parking lot.

Another cornfield

And more cornfields

I had called the Elkhart County Fairgrounds just prior to leaving this morning.  We were instructed to look for an envelope with our name on it as the office would be closed by the time we arrived.
Sure enough, there was an envelope waiting for us on the bulletin board.  It instructed us to go to the Gate 1 camping area and choose any green site.  Monte parked in the big lot just outside the main entrance to the Fair grounds and got in the Jeep with me so we could check out the sites.
We were not impressed with the area because it was too close to the road.  So we just selected one of the vacant sites in another area and set up.
I placed a check for the amount listed on the board for an electric and water site in an envelope.
After setting up, Monte managed to get into the case of our old surge guard.  He was quite surprised to see it was full of water.  How did the water get inside?  It is a mystery but he is determined to call the company on Monday to complain about it.

After dinner we took a walk around the park first stopping at the office to drop off the pay envelope.

We caught the very last race of the day.
