The
cold and wind kept us in pretty much the entire day. We spent a few hours doing research on
lighthouses, keepers and life in the 1870s.
In
the afternoon, we braved the weather outside and I gave Monte a much needed
haircut. It came out okay considering I
rushed because I was cold.
After
dinner we took a walk down the trail leading to the Horse Camp.
There are eight primitive sites, four single -horse corrals, and two double corrals available.
There is a seven-mile horse trail and a 150-acre open riding area across from the horse camp.
Continuing
on down the road we stopped at the Pioneer Cemetery.
There
are only a few graves-
most of the dates of death were in the early 1900s.
Back
home, we settled in for the night grateful for the warmth of the fireplace.
