Today
was officially our day off but we still ended up putting in almost 6 hours of
preparation between putting together a schedule of programs for the next two
weeks and practicing our first program we will present tomorrow.
The
program is supposed to run approximately 45 minutes. This time includes the actual presentation of
the topic, Q and A session, making a craft and, at the completion, time to
stamp JR Ranger activity and passbooks.
If a child has completed all the requirements for a level they will be
presented with that levels reward. The
award levels are: 1st-JR Ranger badge and the secret hand sign. 2nd-Special pencil and decal and 3rd-cloth
patch and certificate.
When
we timed our presentation it only took us ten minutes. I guess we are going to have to talk a lot
s-l-o-w-e-r.
We
will be presenting 5 programs a week.
Week 1 and week 2 have different programs each day so that means we have
to learn 10 different programs. At the
end of week 2 we can repeat week 1 programs.
A
funny thing happened. There is not
enough room at our site for my car so I parked it at the Ranger Station where
there is ample parking. When we stopped
by the car to get something out of the trunk we noticed there was an envelope
on the windshield. It was for an extra
vehicle payment of $5day.
The
ranger who had put it on the car didn’t realize it was my car. We all got a big laugh out of it.
