Humbug Mountain State Park

We only had three girls show up yesterday for our program so we didn’t expect a big group today either.  We drove around the campground inviting all the kids we saw to come to the Busy Beaver program.  As we passed the kids I used a beaver hand puppet to wave to them with.

A few minutes before 10am we had 4 or 5 five kids and then before we knew it we had a group 46!  There wasn’t enough room on the bench for all the kids to sit.  Monte did a great job talking about beavers while I handed out bingo cards.  As soon as he was finished presenting we played the game.    After the game some of the kids stayed behind to color the picture of a beaver I had handed out.

Back home, I packed us a lunch and we took off for town.  We did some laundry, spent a couple of hours at the library and then picked up a few grocery items before returning home.

After dinner we took a walk around the campground and then I spent an hour prepping a kit for an upcoming program.
