February 18, 2014
Englewood, FL
Don’t push my button!

I set the alarm for 8AM.  The one tech had told Monte that he was going to be late in the morning and wouldn’t start working on the rig until after 9.
BUT at 8:30 one of the guys began working on the rig so I ended up having to rush to get ready.

Sorting through stuff!
When the guys took their break for lunch we took a ride across the street to Walmart to pick up a few groceries and turkey breast for lunch.
Just before we left for lunch, one of the guys informed us that his boss did not want Monte in the work area and that when we returned from lunch he should keep his distance.  REALLY
I had been remarkably calm all morning but that didn’t sit right with me—but still I kept my mouth shut.
Leg in place waiting for wiring.
Bolts inserted in place

Monte noticed there was a gap from where the bracket was welded--A mis-measurement?

Inserting the other leg
Leg Bolted in place-New Motor on each landing gear leg
New Switch's installed between existing switches
Steady-fast foot installed and leg extended

Looking down through inside of compartment
Leg extended and hooked up to steadyfast stabilizer
New Fuses wired in place and power hooked up.
Finally at around 2PM the work was done and Monte began repacking all the items in the front compartment.
Putting equipment back in
No more bar across inside of rig-more room
Everything packed up and now to get the heck out of the parking lot.

We hitched up and went into the office to settle up the bill.  I made up my mind I was just going to pay the bill without saying anything—The owner said he was sorry it had taken so long but that these things happen.  He added that he felt he was being fair to us because he was actually losing money on this job and we only had to pay a little extra.
He had to do it—push my button, LITTLE EXTRA, I roared.  $50 would be a little extra!   More than twice the amount estimated is not a LITTLE EXTRA.
He just couldn’t let it go-he had to add how we had two guys working on our rig for two days and how they ran into difficulties..  Is that our fault?
I told him I wasn’t finding fault with the workmanship (Monte had inspected the work and was quite satisfied) I was finding fault with his business practice—I would have never agreed to having the work done if I knew it was going to cost more than twice the amount estimated.
While I was at it I also told him I didn’t like the idea that he didn’t want Monte watching the work being done.  The rig is our home—we have the right to see what is being done to it.  AND if Monte hadn’t been watching I’m not sure they would have caught the problem with the gap.
When I mentioned the problem we had pulling into the parking lot due to the culvert, the owner was quick to point out that wasn’t his fault.

It was funny that he said that because it sure didn’t take him long to run out and place a cone by the culvert!
By the time we drove the short distance to the park we are staying at it was after 3PM.  Monte set up the outside while I took care of the inside.
Then he began the fun job of setting up our Dish satellite.
No luck getting satelites on the western arc,had to change the lnb's and setup the eastern arc with new setting and angles.
A Bonus of having different lnb's for different parts of the USA
Dish has over 6 different satelites to choose from.  This is the advantage of having a hardwired dish setup over a roof mounted which would just pick up the western arc dishes.
By the time we were all settled in for the night I was exhausted.  It would have been nice to have the luxury of being able to sleep in the next morning but we had to see what was wrong with my car.
