This is the eve of a brand new phase of our life. Tomorrow
we load up the last of our belongings into our RV (our new home) and prepare to
embark on a journey of a lifetime. We are not really sure where we are going or
for how long but the one thing we do know is that this is the path we are
supposed to take. So I invite you to come along with us as we venture out into
the highways, cities, National Parks and maybe even some "roads less
traveled".
It has been quite an experience leading up to this point. We, like most people, have accumulated so much stuff--toooo much stuff. When we made the decision to embrace this new lifestyle full-time it meant renting out our house which meant selling off our furniture and other STUFF. We had an open house, which despite the amount of things that grew feet and walked off without being paid for, we did quite well. We donated quite a bit of STUFF and gave friends and relatives some more stuff. And just when I thought all the STUFF was gone, more stuff had to be dealt with at the last moment. It is quite mind boggling all the details that have to be handled-changing mailing address (thanks Mom & Dad for providing a place for our mail to be delivered), getting a property manager to deal with the new tenants (can't believe the house rented out in less than one week) getting the cats (Anne & Pumpkin) acclimated to a new home and many, many other things.
BUT I am sure it will have been all worth it.
Our first destination is Tallahassee to visit with Monte's daughter and our adorable grandson Timmy.
Time to sign off as the alarm is set for 5am--more STUFF to deal with in the am before we can leave-drop the dvr off at Brighthouse, drop keys off with property manager, drop last few items off at Goodwill.
See you on the road..........

I am not really familiar with how this blog site works. I made a few more entries but they disappeared. So I will recap and if what I wrote the last couple of days did get posted I apologize for repeating myself.
On Tuesday we had planned on leaving by 1pm but didn’t end up leaving until 3:30. So many unplanned details to work out.
The trip to Tallahassee was uneventful. We arrived at the RV park at 8pm (our first night in our new home) and set up quickly. Our cats, Pumpkin and Anne, explored their new home and eventually settled down.
The RV park (Tallahassee RV Park) was a little on the pricey side-We only decided to stay there because we had a voucher for $25. It still cost us $13 out of pocket. I was not impressed. It had very little to offer and the early morning lawn mower as a alarm clock was not appreciated. Hope we have better luck at the next place.

We met up with Melissa and Timmy (Monte’s daughter and grandson who live in Tallahassee) for lunch at a place called Kool Beanz CafĂ©. We were not impressed. The menu (quite pricey) was limited. Monte and I decided to split a hamburger. The waitress did not bring a second plate-we had to ask for one. Monte had asked for mayo—it never came.
It was great spending time with Melissa and Timmy. I couldn’t believe how much he had grown since the last time we saw him a few months earlier.
After a tearful goodbye, and a quick trip to Walmart, we headed to Carrabelle Beach. We had a voucher for a free two night stay. When we arrived it started to pour—Monte got to experience setting up in the rain. Luckily the rain did not last long and we were able to take a walk on the beach. It was breathtaking and reminded us why we decided to embrace this lifestyle.
