August 13, 2012

We were up by 5:30.  When we went into the office at Mor/ryde at 6:30 we found out they do not have any place for us to dump our sewer and according to the gauge we were full.  Because we knew we were going to be spending at least one night in the shop where the work was being done we knew we needed to find someplace to dump.  We asked in the office and were directed to an RV camp a few miles away.  We entered the address in the GPS and turned down the last street it directed us to.  It was a residential street with no RV Park in sight.  Luckily we had the number of the park and got directions.    It turned out we were only a few blocks away.  The sign said they didn’t open up until 8 but when Monte knocked on the door someone opened the window upstairs and instructed him to put the money ($12) in the mail slot.  He didn’t have any singles so he only left a ten dollar bill.

We found the dump station.  It had been drizzling but as soon as Monte hooked up the dump hose it started raining hard.

When we got back to Mor/ryde Monte dropped me off at the office and was directed to the bay he had to back into.

I logged onto the WIFI and watched an episode of Army Wives.  Then I watched a couple of episodes of Modern Family on the HULUPLUS.  Monte spent most of the morning taking photos and video of the work being done to the RV.

We were handed a menu and were instructed to select what we wanted for lunch.  That was unexpected and a nice surprise.

After lunch we took a ride to the RV/MH Museum.

They have models dating back to the early 1900’s.

Boy has the industry come a long way.

We stopped at Kohl’s and Target looking for winter jackets.  Since we are headed to Oregon I would like to be prepared if the weather turns cold suddenly.  BUT we found out it is too early in the season for winter jackets.  I guess we will have to look when we get closer to Oregon.

When we got back to the plant, we used the key they had provided us with to get into the area where our RV is being worked on.  That is where we are spending at least one night-maybe two if they don’t finish the work tomorrow.

Tomorrow we plan on touring the Keystone plant where our RV was made.

Tomorrow also marks two weeks since we started on this journey.  I have a decal over the top of the inside door that I see every time I leave our new home.  It reads, “Every day is a gift.”  That pretty much sums up how I feel not only about this lifestyle but life in general.
