Checkers RV Campground, Welcome, MN

It was great sleeping in a little this morning.  It was quite nippy so we turned on the fireplace and within a short time we were warm and cozy.  After our traditional Saturday bacon and eggs breakfast, Monte puttered around outside while I got caught up on financials.  After lunch we took a ride into town.  It was deserted!  We did go to a couple of lakes, Sisseton and Budd.

Both beautiful.  We plugged Parks into the GPS and found a State park 12 miles away.  The directions took us through dirt roads.  RRRH.  But it was worth it.  The park was so remote and quiet.  It was great. It wasn’t until we were on our way back (a different route) that we saw a sign that welcomed us to Minnesota and realized that the park on Okamanpadu Lake was in Iowa.

We went to the local Laundromat in Fairmont and did some wash.  It started to rain on the ride back to Welcome. We had a quick bite to eat and then I to work on researching where to stay tomorrow night. It looks like it is going to be a place called Hills RV Campground in Plankinton, SD approximately 200 miles away.
