Englewood to Valrico to North Port, FL
We have been waffling back and forth on a
decision to purchase a PHT (portable holding tank) also known as a honey wagon,
blue boy or poop tote. It is used for
hauling waste water from a camper to a dump station. Some campgrounds don’t have sewer hookups and
if our permanent holding tank is full before we are ready to leave, we need a
way to dump the tanks.
It is a little impractical to hitch up to
drive to the dump station so that is where the portable holding tank comes in
handy.
The tanks range in sizes from 5 gallons to
42 gallons. We checked out the ones available in Camping World and decided that
the 27 gallon tank would suit our needs.
But we weren’t crazy about the price tag of $255. Even on sale, the lowest price we have seen
the 27 gallon tank is for $178. Monte
has been checking on Craig’s List periodically and finally saw one listed today
for $100. Unfortunately we had to drive
all the way to Valrico but the guy we purchased the tank from agreed to settle
for $80 so it was worth the trip.
We
took advantage of being in the Brandon Area to go to Kohl’s.
I found this sign amusing. But I guess you have to be of a certain age to get why it is funny.
After heading back south again we stopped at
Sam’s Club so I could get some pictures from Dad’s birthday party printed and
then enjoyed a delicious dinner at Mom & Dad’s house.
One of the Camping World booths at the Tampa RV Super show was giving these pet bandanas out .
Anne didn't really like it.
