Travel day from Coyote
Hollow Campground, Dixie National Forest
To Red Ledge RV Park,
Kanarraville, UT
IT WAS COOOOOL LAST
NIGHT! We were warm enough snuggled
under our down comforter but very chilly when we got out of bed in the
morning. We try not to turn on the
furnace in an effort to conserve our propane but we made an exception this
morning. Within 10 minutes we were
toasty warm.
Normally on moving day we
try to get an early start but because we had a reservation we took our time
getting ready and didn’t pull out of the campground until after 11AM.
There is gravel road
leading to Coyote Hollow Campground that is approximately 1 mile long and very
narrow.
So I went ahead of Monte and
blocked the road so no one else could drive down the road.
After a quick pit stop at
the beginning of the gravel road near the highway we were on our way.
We had made reservations
at the Red Ledge RV Park in Kanarraville because they accept our Passport
America membership. We booked for a
week. The way they work it is that we
had to pay full price for the first night ($27.00) and half price for the rest
of the week.
There are only 22 sites
very CLOSE together. But the manager
gave us a nice grassy spot (actually two sites). I don’t know what made me do it but I told
Monte that I wanted to open up our big slide to access the TV and try to get a satellite
signal. SURE enough because of an
overhead tree we could not get a signal.
We asked the manager if
she had a different site. She gave us
one that is normally used to park extra cars. (Pictures to be posted at a later
date)
After getting set up we
took a ride into the nearby city of Cedar City to pick up a few groceries at
Walmart. But first we used a gift card
that we received last Christmas to Applebee’s.
We ordered off the 2 for
$20 menu.
Monte ordered a bowl of French
Onion soup and I ate the entire spinach and artichoke appetizer.
By the time our steaks came I was pretty full
and took home most of the dinner.
