  October 6, 2014
Travel day from Clinton MD to Boydton, VA
We set the alarm for 6:30 so we could be ready to pull out by 9:30.  As usual, while Monte took care of the outdoor chores (taking down the satellite dish, unplugging the electric and disconnecting the water) I got the inside ready.

After dumping we pulled out of the park by 9, a half hour earlier than I planned.
Monte checking the tire pressure.

It was great to pull out ahead of schedule BUT we ended up traveling around Washington DC for a couple of hours because the entrance to 95South was closed. There was no warning and no detour signs.
When we finally headed in the right direction the rest of the trip was uneventful.
We arrived at Rudd Recreation Area, an Army Corp of Engineer Park in Boydton Virginia, by 2PM.  I had called earlier in the day and was assured there were plenty of spots available.  By the time we arrived there were only 5 open spots that would accommodate our size.
After paying ($12 with Monte’s Senior Pass) for one night we found and were delighted with our site.

The website lists the size as 40 feet but it is definitely larger.

Large picnic area.
The bathhouse is very clean with plenty of hot water.  The only negative is that we were able to pick up very limited TV Stations.  Monte set up our satellite, and after calling into Dish to give our new Zip code, were able to pick up all the local channels.
