Saturday: Givhans
Ferry State Park
After the
full day we had yesterday touring Charlestown it was nice to just veg out. I did spend some time researching some places
to stay between our present location and our winter destination. We have committed to working at Little
Manatee River State Park in Florida for the winter but are not scheduled to
begin until December.
It was a
little frustrating tying to look up sites on the internet because we have a
very spotty connection. Having good
reliable wifi is one of those things we tend to take for granted until we don’t
have it anymore.
Sunday:
Givhans Ferry State Park
We spent
another very lazy day. I sat outside for
a little while until the smoldering smoke from our neighbor’s campfire and the
mosquitoes had me fleeing back inside.
I had chosen
this particular park due to its close proximity to Charleston---Normally we pay
for one or two nights and if we like the park extend for additional days. BUT this time we made the mistake of paying
for a week when we registered-big mistake because of the very spotty wifi and
cell phone connection.
Monday:
Givhans Ferry State Park
We spent yet
another lazy day-almost a repeat of yesterday.
I did feel like I accomplished something because I did some long overdue
scanning of receipts with our Neat scanner and I also cleaned out a cabinet
that had an accumulation of brochures and maps from places we had visited.
Tuesday:
Givhans Ferry State Park
In the late
afternoon we took a walk with our garbage to the recycling center.
We planned
on going for a long walk but the mosquitoes were relentless so we rushed back
home, almost running at times.
