Desert Sky

Today was a lazy day.  Both Monte and I worked on our computers in the morning.  In the late afternoon we took a ride to Walgreens to see if we could get a flu shot.  Normally we get our shots in September but we were very lax this year and suffered the consequence of getting sick.

Once in the Take Care clinic, we filled out the flu shot questionnaire and then tried to sign in using their touch screen monitors.  But both monitors were frozen so we asked someone at the pharmacy for assistance.  A couple of minutes later an employee came and informed us that we did not have to sign in for the flu shot.  She directed us to wait in the pharmacy line.  When it was our turn, the tech told us it would be at least a 40 minute wait.  WHAT-we just wasted a half hour between trying to sign in and waiting in line.  We told her we would try someplace else.

We drove to Walmart and found out that they stopped giving flu shots around Thanksgiving time.  We drove to another Walgreens and waited in line for 20 minutes.  BUT the wait paid off because we were able to get our shots.  The tech told us that by the end of the evening the store would be out of shots so it was good timing on our part.

After dinner and a beautiful sunset, we took a ride to Best Buy and the Dollar Tree.

We chose a “wonderful” time to winter in Arizona as they are expecting record cold temperatures!  We had bought an electric blanket when we first started on the road but haven’t used it yet.  Tonight might be the night.
