Desert Sky

The Slugfest has officially ended!  Despite a terrible night sleep due to a steady wind that rattled our slide toppers, I decided that I felt up to going on a short hike.  I went on-line to do some research and found a place nearby that sounded just right.  In fact, the hike sounded so easy we did not even bring our hiking boots along and although we had our trekking poles in the car we opted not to take them along.  (Mistake)

We arrived at Silly Mountain (that is its real name) after a short 10 minute drive.  There are several trails, all well marked, with varying degrees of difficulty.  We were only going to do the short .7 mile trail but when we reached the marker indicating we had reached our destination, we decided to continue on and ended up hiking over 3 miles.  Most of the trail was easy but there were sections that were a little more difficult because of loose rocks in the path.

When we made it back to the car we were a little tired but, after being sick for three weeks, it felt really good to do something physical.  We are looking forward to exploring the area.
