Desert Sky, Apache Junction, AZ

The first thing we did this morning was check our connection to the satellite.  It was working great except we didn’t have any local channels.  Monte called Dish and followed their prompts.  After several attempts, the tech told us she would have to transfer us to “Advanced Support.  When she couldn’t help us, she transferred us to “Advanced RV Support.
Through the codes revealed with the testing, it was determined the issue was with the connection coming into the rig.  Monte unhooked and then reattached the cable.  That did not solve the issue.
He went up on the roof and moved the antenna to a different location and that did the trick.
(We had learned our lesson from the day before and only temporarily placed the antenna on the roof in the spot we thought it would work best.  Monte plans on permanently installing the antenna tomorrow.)
We were invited to have Easter Dinner at my daughter Renee’s house.  (The girls will be their dad on Easter so were having our Easter today)  While the turkey was in the oven, Monte took a ride to Walmart to get the oil changed in my car.
We had it done when we first arrived in the area back at the end of November.  I couldn’t believe that we had put on over three thousand miles since the last oil change, but we had!  Knowing that we had put on that many miles on my car reinforces that our decision to keep my car was a good one.  If we didn’t have my car we would have put that much mileage on the truck.

My twin 7 year-old granddaughters performed a magic show for us.  Daphne was the magician and Kennedy was her assistant.

Daphne made a penny disappear inside a cup,

was able to tell me what color I chosen on a cube,

pushed plastic nails through a plastic coin

and performed a few other neat tricks.

As we played a couple rounds of Skip-Bo,

the aroma emanating from the roasting turkey made my mouth water.
Finally, it was ready and we sat down to a feast.
After dinner, while I folded laundry,
Grandpa Monte went for a walk with the girls.

Kennedy rode her scooter

while Daphne rode her bike.

They came across a friendly cat.
I am glad Monte was able to resist allowing the cat to follow him home because we already have two cats.
